Over to Moscow this week for a concert by the visiting Danish National Symphony, conducted by Rafael Fruhbeck de Burgos and featuring the legendary Pepe Romero, guitar solo.

Recorded by Radio Orpheus in March this past year, the concert features music of Manuel de Falla, Joaquin Rodrigo and Johannes Brahms.

Here’s what’s on the players:

Top player:

1. de Falla: El Amor Brujo

2. Rodrigo: Concierto de Aranjuez for Guitar and Orchestra (w/Romero)

Bottom Player:

1. Brahms: Symphony Number 1

The Rodrigo is a perennial favorite with a lot of people, despite the fact that he composed a lot during his lifetime. Still . . .he was no one-hit wonder.

Good concert. Part of a week-long celebration of Mstislav Rostropovich back in March.

And it make for perfect pre-holiday anti-road rage music.
