Staying in Paris this week for a concert featuring the legendary Lamoureux Orchestra, recorded in concert at the Champs-Elyseè on January 26th featuring TunisianFrench Faisal Karoui conducting with Italian multi-prize winning Pianist Beatrice Rana in music of Zavaro, Saint-Saens and Magnard.

Starting off the concert with a work by contemporary French composer Pascal Zavaro and The Battle of San Romano from 2012 – ending up the first half of the concert with a wonderful performance of the 2nd Piano Concerto of Camille Saint-Saens with Beatrice Rana as soloist.

And ending up the concert with a performance of the not-heard-nearly-enough Symphony Number 3 by Alberic Magnard.

The concert is broken up between two players – here’s what’s on them:

Part 1 (top player):

1. Pascal Zavaro: The Battle of San Romano (2012)

2. Camille Saint-Saens: Concerto No. 2 in G minor Op.22 (1868) *

3. Encore – Robert Schumann &   Franz Liszt , Arranger  Widmung Op.25 No. 1 (1840)

Part 2 (bottom player):

1. Alberic Magnard: Symphony No. 3 in B flat minor Op.11 (1896)

Lovely concert by a great set of musicians and a wonderful orchestra.

Perfect anti-Road Rage Wednesday. Enjoy.
