Something classic, but not too well known outside the UK. Hardin & York were a duo consisting of Organ and Percussion. Both Hardin and York were former founding members of the 1960s British Invasion Band The Spencer Davis Group (the one Steve Winwood was originally in).

After splitting from Davis, Hardin & York teamed up as a duo. Eddie Hardin on keyboards and Pete York on percussion.

Tonight it’s a concert they performed at the BBC’s Paris Theater in London in 1972.

Recorded by the venerable BBC Radio 1 for their In Concert Series, Hardin & York make the difficult look very easy and the easy seem effortless.

For only two members, they make enough music for several, and this concert is ample proof of that.

Not something to fall asleep to, but definitely something you need to play loud to appreciate.
