Jumping into some Big Band Jazz this weekend by way of the legendary Lionel Hampton and his All-Stars. And All-Star ain’t no lie. Alongside such greats as Wild Bill Davis, Cat Anderson, Joe Newman, Jimmy Cleveland, Curtis Fuller, Cecil Payne, Bud Johnson, Wallace Davenport and a host of others, this band swings.
And it swings for a little under 90 minutes, via this recording made by RBB (Radio Berlin) live from Philharmonie Hall.
