In the Cosmic-soaked footsteps of Tame Impala, Pond and a host of other New-Psych Meisters, the Swedish Psych-Commune Goat have been around for a while and are actually the sum-total of several projects rolled into one. Because they insist on a level of anonymity when they perform, it’s difficult to tell just who is in the band during any one performance. And maybe that’s the cool part. Suffice to say they’ve been making wildly enthusiastic impressions where ever they perform.

This concert is from last year’s Way Out West Festival and it marked a busy year for the band, who saw them introduce their sonic mayhem here in the states and become the runaway hits at SXSW and Coachella.

It’s a safe bet they’ll be doing much the same thing in 2015.

But in case you missed them during their appearances here, tonight is a taste of what they were up to at Way Out West, recorded on August 10th, 2013 by the venerable and forward-thinking Sveriges Radio via their mobile studio.

One reviewer claimed it was possible to smell the aroma of dope through the computer screen while listening to them. No such luck on my end. I must have the wrong computer – or maybe it’s just Time-Warner.

But whether or not you get a contact-high by listening to them, Goat is a band you really need to check out, or else you’ll be missing a very important part of your Musical education. Just sayin’.

Crank it up and kick off the week.
