Ending up the week with the inimitable Linda Ronstadt, recorded live at Berkeley Community Theater on July 18th 1974.

Always one of the favorites and the personification of the laid-back California sound which seemed to be so prevalent in the early 1970s, particularly in America, especially in Southern California.

With the recent news regarding her health issues, Linda Ronstadt has pretty much withdrawn from the public eye. But her music and her immense talent are with us always, and there are so many reminders of what a truly great talent she is, and always will be.

If you’ve come to her music late, here’s a good place to start. If you need a reminder of the tremendous and special talent Linda Ronstadt has been all about, crank it up, relax and give a listen.

  1. I have been listening to LR since the mid 70s, but I had never heard her live before. She’s confident, powerful and nuanced. It doesn’t hurt that this performance coincides with the release of Heart Like a Wheel and the tracks are all from the Capitol period. Thanks.
