Gothenburg Symphony – Gustavo Dudamel, Cond. – Leif Ove Andsnes, piano – January 13, 2011 – Part 2

Continuing our series of re-posts from 2011 this week, with another concert via Sveriges Radio in Stockholm. Only this time, relayed via Radio Nacional España in Madrid. Hence, the Spanish announcements.

The Gothenburg Symphony, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, is joined by pianist Leif Ove Andsnes in a program of music by Benzecry, Rachmaninov, Chopin and Sibelius. It was broadcast on January 13, 2011.

The concert begins with Rituales Amerindios by the contemporary Portuguese composer Esteban Benzecy. And the Leif Ove Andsnes joins the orchestra in a performance of Rachmaninov’s Piano Concert Number 4. That’s on the top player.

And then the concert continues (on the bottom player), with a performance of the Chopin Waltz in A-flat Major and then concludes with a performance of the Sibelius Symphony Number 2.

Sorry it’s taken so long to repost these. With an avalanche of concerts to contend with, it’s hard to keep track of everything at times.

But this one definitely qualifies as Anti-Road Rage Wednesday music.

Turn it up, relax and enjoy.
