The music of the neglected and overlooked French composer Alberic Magnard this weekend. His Sonata for Cello and Piano in this radio broadcast recital featuring Robert Salles, cello (from the Pascal String Quartet) and pianist Germain Smajda.

With all these French Radio transcription discs, there are no dates of recording or even broadcast, so it’s an estimate that the recording date on this recital is 1953. If anyone has more exact information, it would be greatly appreciated.

But for now . . .enjoy.
