I’ve kept meaning to post some Porcupine Tree on the Roundtable ever since we got started. But distractions got in the way and I didn’t get around to it until tonight.
If you’re not familiar with Porcupine Tree, and have a penchant for your music ethereal, Progressive and Experimental, this band is right up your street.
For those of you who are familiar, Porcupine Tree has become the next logical step in the Experimental/Progressive idiom – carrying forward a lot of the music bands such as Can, Faust, Magma and Neu established in the 1970’s.
Tonight it’s the title track off their 1995 album The Sky Moves Sideways. This is The Sky Moves Sideways Phase 1.
For the next 18 minutes it would probably be good if you just didn’t do anything but turn the speakers up.
