Over to Zurich this weekend for a few words from Pharoah Sanders and his Quartet, recorded live at the Volkshaus during the International Jazzfest from October 26, 1984.
Accompanying Sanders during this adventure are – Kirk Lightsey, piano – Santi DeBriano, bass and Idris Muhammad, drums.
Originally broadcast over Swiss Radio (there’s an announcement right over the intro to Body & Soul), I’m not entirely sure this is a complete concert. But it is almost an hours worth of vintage Sanders.
Sometimes you just have to take what you can get.
Enjoy.
