Over to Paris this week for a concert by Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, led by star-on-the-rise Tito Ceccherini in a concert devoted entirely to the music of Bela Bartok. On hand to assist with the Tempo di Ciaccona is Helène Ruff. It was recorded by the ever-present and always-incredible Radio France Musique on December 17, 2013.

A bit short this week (a little under an hour), it’s nonetheless a nice feast of Bartok, conducted by one of the up-and-comer specialists in modern repertoire.

Here’s what’s on the player:

Le 17 décembre 2013 en la Nef du Musée d’Orsay, la violoniste Hélène Collerette et l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France placés sous la direction de Tito Ceccherini interprètent des oeuvres de Bela Bartok.

1. Béla Bartok
Deux Images pour orchestre Op.10 BB 59 Sz 46 (1910)

2. Béla Bartok

3. Béla Bartok & Nelson Dellamaggiore, Réviseur
Le Prince de bois, Suite Op.13 Sz 60 (1914-1916)

Hélène Collerette, Violon

Enjoy and relax. With this concert, you can do both.
