Over to Lugano Switzerland this week for a concert by l’Orchestre de la Suisse Italienne led by Polish conductor-on-the-rise Michael Nesterowicz and featuring Wunderkind Violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja in Beethoven’s celebrated Violin Concerto in D.
Relayed from Italian-Swiss Radio over to the venerable Radio France Musique, this concert was recorded on November 13th of last year and also features works by Ernest Bloch, violin encores by Gyorgy Kurtag, Vaughan-Williams and an encore from the orchestra by Sibelius.
