I originally posted just the overture to Maurice Emmanuel’s Amphytrion a few weeks ago, and it was pointed out by Jean-Pierre Bigot that this was part of a larger session his father had conducted on February 13, 1952.

And sure enough, it was. All part of the same radio session, featuring legendary singers Baritone Camille Maurane and Soprano Nadine Sautereau with the Paris Radio Symphony conducted by Eugene Bigot. Scenes from Maurice Emmanuel’s Amphytrion, now completing what I started a few weeks ago.

Many thanks to Jean-Pierre Bigot for his wealth of session information (and photos) for this rich period of French performances, which had sadly fallen into neglect over the years.

Not if I can help it.

Enjoy.
