A live set tonight from Scottish singer-songwriter Pete McLeod, recorded live at a gig in Köln, Germany this past April. MacLeod, who has been at it, almost non-stop since his first performing gig in 1996, is finally seeing the endless hard work and struggle pay off. With a wonderfully rich and characteristic voice, a little reminiscent of Michael Stipe, but I don’t want to toss him into a pigeon-hole – MacLeod has his own voice and his own approach and that is one of the main elements why he is so enjoyable to listen to.
His has been a slow and gradual climb, but one which has been met with success and positive feedback every step of the way. His debut album Rolling Stone for Alan McGee‘s 359 Music Label, was released in November of last year and he has hit the road to promote it. Currently, he has four gigs in the UK between now and early June.
I don’t know what’s in the cards for a swing through the U.S., but give this latest gig in Germany a listen and keep checking his site for updates.
Oh, and you can grab a copy of the album there too, while you’re at it – including a whole pile of other goodies, including a coffee mug.
Life is good. Talent is everywhere. And don’t forget; Music is the glue that holds it all together.
