Something special this week. The legendary Roxy Music, recored on the last night of their European tour on October 29, 1974, just a few days ahead of the release of their milestone Country Life album.

Always an innovative band, with a virtual who’s who of Progressive icons, Roxy Music were without a doubt, one of the most influential bands of the 1970s and 1980s – and as individuals, Bryan Ferry has been discovered by an entirely new generation of listeners, Brian Eno continues to blaze trails and astonish fans, Phil Manzanera continues his journey and his critical acclaim – and on it goes.

Individually and collectively, the legacy of Roxy Music hasn’t aged at all. Although the early material could be considered a bit dated for it’s leanings towards Glam, the core of their musical message hasn’t changed. Still innovative, still pioneering and still gathering acclaim.

Tonight it’s a nod to the early 70s, with a recap of what they were up to prior to Country Life. A great show and a great audience – and a lot of good times to be had by all.

Play very loud.

And while you’re doing that, would you please consider chipping in a buck or 50 to keep Past Daily up, and continuing its preservation mission? We’re still a ways from reaching our $10,000 goal for this period. So, if you can give a bit, and tell your friends, that would be truly wonderful.
