The sounds coming out of the Scandinavian countries continues to astound, captivate and intrigue.
Tonight it’s a band from Oslo, Highasakite. Only together for a little over two years, they already have two albums out, the latest being Silent Treatment, which they are hitting the road promoting.
In case you missed them, they were at this year’s SXSW festival, and were a hit with the audience and are getting high marks from the Press. They are currently touring the East coast of the U.S. before they head to the Far East. Tonight’s post comes by way of a recent gig done as part of the Introducing series of concerts, recorded by RBB in Berlin.
I realize I’ve been saying this a lot, but Highasakite is a band you shouldn’t miss. Fronted by the intoxicating vocals of Ingrid Helene Håvic, who also writes most of the band’s material, they are one of the standout bands of the year so far.
