Covering familiar ground this week. A performance of the well-known Symphony Number 1 of Georges Bizet as performed in a radio studio concert by the French National Orchestra, conducted by the legendary Andrè Cluytens. The recording was made by the ORTF (Radio France as it’s now known) around 1954. Since there are no actual dates of recording on these French Radio transcriptions, it’s guesswork – any session information would be greatly appreciated (hint-hint, Cluytens aficionados).

Some standard repertory by an anything but standard conductor.

Enjoy.
