A band that definitely embodies the spirit of Rock Without Borders – Blues Pills tonight.
Blues Pills are a Scandinavian/French/American blues aggregate fronted by the demure/enchanting/killer vocalist Elin Larsson. The rest of the band is made up of Zack Anderson and Cory Barry; the American Rhythm section and Dorian Sarriaux, the 18 year-old French guitarist. They’ve been getting a lot of attention of late, and touring to promote their debut self-titled album, which has been getting much notice from the press and much attendance at their latest series of concerts.
They are slated to do an extensive tour of the UK starting in October, coming off a Summer-long blanket of the Continent. No word on if they are coming to the States or not.
In the meantime, here’s a sampling of what they sound like via their Appearance at Sweden Rock Festival this past June.
