No sooner have the Summer Festivals wrapped up and gone into the history books, but the Winter Festivals are kicking off.
Tonight it’s the legendary London Calling Festival – Part 2. Part 1 is one of the major Spring festivals in the Netherlands, and equally as legendary, ranking it alongside such other major festivals as Pinkpop and Into The Great Wide Open.
From London Calling-2, which finished up this past weekend, here’s a set by UK newcomers Racing Glaciers, recorded on Saturday by the venerable VPRO in the Netherlands. Racing Glaciers have been around only a short time and have released their debut album earlier this year. Initially envisioning themselves as a one-off project, Racing Glaciers have had a re-think and are in it for the long haul. And as just about every band does with a new release, they are hitting the road in the seemingly non-stop slog of getting the message across and selling albums.
Right now they are kicking off a European tour, this Dutch Festival appearance was a first for them. And judging by the audience reaction, they made a good impression. They will be criss-crossing Europe all through November and December.
As far as U.S. dates are concerned, there’s nothing on the schedule past December. So it’s up in the air.
In the meantime, here is a taste of what you can expect when they finally hit Stateside.
