In case you needed a little motivation to cut the lawn today, or (if you’re back East) shovel snow, here is a nicely high-voltage set from Ty Segall, recorded a few weeks ago at Paradiso in Amsterdam by the venerable VPRO and broadcast over 3VOOR12 in The Netherlands.
The proud owner of 8 solo albums, plus the distinction of being a member of some 7 other bands, Ty Segall is one busy fellow. At 27, he can get away with it – but he’s not resting on any laurels. And what’s a working musician to do, other than work? I dunno.
Suffice to say, Ty Segall has it pretty much together and is accommodating his audiences very well, particularly this Dutch one from a few weeks ago. One thing you can say is his own band is a very tight one and they compliment each other exceedingly well.
Packed into a tour schedule that takes him all over Europe before landing in San Francisco next January, Ty Segall is doing his level-best to get the message out. Also to let people know about Manipulator, his new album which came out this year.
