A taste of Soul, smack in the middle of Amsterdam tonight, compliments of Curtis Harding in a concert recorded live at Paradiso on November 23rd by the always-handy VPRO and broadcast on 3VOOR12.
Originally from Saginaw, Michigan, Harding has made Atlanta Georgia his home base for a while now. With his debut album Soul Power out and a fistful of great reviews, as well as high accolades from Rolling Stone and a head-turning performance at this year’s SXSW Festival, Curtis Harding has firmly placed himself as an artist to watch in the coming months.
Lauded as one of the 10 Artists You Need To Know in Rolling Stone, Harding is currently all over Europe. At the moment he’s in the UK, performing in Glasgow tomorrow night and at The Louisiana in Bristol on Monday before heading back over to the Continent to finish up 2014 with gigs in Munich and Berlin, he’s continuing a hot streak which shows no signs of letting up.
It’s a pretty safe bet we’ll be seeing a repeat performance of his ground-breaking appearance at SXSW next year, and I suspect there will be (should be) an appearance at Coachella. But that’s months off.
