Something very special tonight, and very historic. A concert by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, from July 9th 1963, featuring guest conductor Willi Boskovsky and Soprano Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, during an annual Viennese Night at the Hollywood Bowl.

Since it’s our Mid-Week Concert, and since New Years Eve just happens to coincide, what better excuse than to run this never-before-heard concert featuring one of the legendary Sopranos of the 20th Century.

It’s a little under 90 minutes, so it’s on two players.

Here’s what’s you get to hear:

Los Angeles Philharmonic – Hollywood Bowl
Viennese Night – July 9, 1963

Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Soprano

Part 1:

Johnann Strauss Jr. – Overture to Die Fledermaus
