Recorded earlier this morning and a perfect end to a Sunday. DM Stith, who has been bubbling under the surface for a few years is getting to release a new album later on this year, his first solo album since his debut Heavy Ghost in 2009.
But it’s Stith as solo this time, closing out the last day of the Route du Rock Hiver Festival in St. Malo France. Perfect Sunday Night/wee-small hours of Monday morning listening. And all in all, a pretty great festival this year. A lot of new bands, a lot of West Coast bands at the festival this year and I think it bodes well for a good festival season this year.
DM Stith was icing on the cake. Recorded on March 1st and, due to a couple of technical glitches, the first song is missing. But the rest of the set is intact.
Enjoy and get ready for the coming week. Should be interesting.
And I mean interesting in the roller-coaster sense with the last 3 days of our Emergency Fundraiser. We’re winding down and officially at 60% of our goal. We have 3 days to raise the last $1500 before we can rest and exhale. We’re smack in the middle of a financial crisis and we stand to lose the archive, which would mean we’d have to shut Past Daily down, and I don’t want to do that. I love this site and I love what we’re trying to do and I’ve gotten so much encouragement and contributions the last few days that it means to have to make it this time. All I need is a little bit from you – chipping in whatever you’re comfortable with as a tax-deductible pledge and contribution to keep Past Daily up and running and the Archive safe. And if you’ve already contributed, and I cannot thank you enough for the amazing responses the past few days, and you still want to help, tell your friends. But do it today, there’s no time left. We need to hear from you – we need to know if this site means anything to you and you want to see us keep it going. We can do it with your help, but we need it now before it’s too late.
