Heading back to St. Malo for last week’s magnum opus at Route du Rock Hiver and a set from Toronto’s Electro-Psych assemblage Absolutely Free.
Resurrected from the ashes of the previous endeavor DD/MM/YYYY, Absolutely Free have been eagerly awaited by fans and critics, who were already familiar with the previous incarnation.
This time they have an album out (just came out a few weeks ago, S/T is available as a download and preview via BrooklynVegan, so check it out), and have just finished a European tour, which tonight’s gig at Route du Rock was the last one. They are playing in Toronto in June at the Arts & Crafts Field Trip on June 7th opening for My Morning Jacket.
Tonight’s set was recorded a few days ago. So if you missed them, you get a chance to catch them again. If you’re interested and are planning on catching them next time they’re in town, check out this concert and lineup for tickets.
