If you’ve been following the musical posts of Past Daily for any time now, you will quickly know that the Chilean/Croatian Indie/Psych/Alternative band Intimate Stranger have been favorites of mine since I first heard them several years ago via MySpace. Hearing them grow as a band and develop as songwriters and performers has been truly gratifying. They’ve been working very hard the past few years and it’s paid off. Their reputation and following have only increased over the years, and the press is consistently favorable and encouraging.

They’ve made a few forays to the U.S. – once at SXSW and a few short dates around New Orleans. But they need to spend some time in the States – and they need to get over to Europe and get on the Festival circuit.

The time is certainly right, if this latest session is any indication.

Tonight’s concert was recorded live only two days ago as part of the Rockaxis series of in-studio sessions over Chilean television.

If you aren’t familiar with them yet, this is a great introduction to Intimate Stranger as a band you need to know about and keep an eye on. They are playing a concert later on this week, sharing the bill with another favorite Chilean band, The Ganjas. That should be something to catch.

In case you haven’t noticed, there is a very interesting scene developing in Santiago Chile – all around South America, for that matter. Time to go exploring and make some discoveries.

For now, crank this one up and get ready for the week. And head over to their site and see what they’re up to
