Over to Paris this week for a recent concert by the Tana String Quartet in a program of music by Arriaga, Hector Parra, Joaquin Turina and Astor Piazzolla, recorded live in concert at the Auditorium of The Louvre in Paris on April 17th of this year.

On the program is the world premier of Aracne, by the contemporary Spanish composer Hector Parra, which might take a little getting used to, if you’re not familiar with music considered avant-garde.

But sprinkled around it is a quartet by Arriaga, Oración del Torero by Turina and the Tango Master Astor Piazzolla with Four for Tango.

And eclectic mix, but one which puts this highly regarded String Quartet through their paces. And as usual, Radio France Musique do their stellar best.

It’s a little over an hour, so it’s all on one player. Here’s the rundown:

Concert donné le 17 avril 2015 à 20h00 à l’Auditorium du Louvre.
