Something historic to end the week. The legendary Bob Dylan-Goes-Electric concert at the Newport Folk Festival, from July 25, 1965. Legendary; the stuff of myth, a million and one “eyewitness accounts”, but here’s the concert as it happened in clear sound.

Introduced by Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul and Mary fame), amid some confusion on stage. Tuning up. Audience reaction. And the rest is history.

A memorable concert which, if you’ve never heard before, is one of the milestones in Rock history. If you are Dylan fan, you probably have several copies of this in your collection. It’s been well-documented, from films, news reports and on-stage recordings to homemade fan tapes, this one has been around.

But if you’ve never heard it – of if you saw Dylan the other night on the Letterman finale, and wondered just who this guy was and why was he of such great historic importance, this might give you some clue. We’re coming up on the 50 year anniversary of this concert.

Otherwise, enjoy and dive into a bit of history you can dance to.
