Festival season for 2015 is in high gear. With the legendary Primavera Sound festival wrapping up over the weekend, ending its 15th year as one of the premier festivals in Europe – a slate of stand-out acts, boding extremely well for a memorable Festival season this Summer.

Tonight it’s The Ghost Of A Saber Tooth Tiger (or The GOASTT, for short), brainchild of Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl. They probably owe much of their extraordinary point of view and lush, hypnotic sound to Flaming Lips, Tame Impala and Syd Barrett era Pink Floyd, than Sean’s illustrious dad. Which is fine. This band stands on their own two legs and they were thoroughly engrossing from start to finish. Luckily, the renowned Arte Web and RNE (Radio Nacional España) were on hand to capture and preserve everything this past weekend.

Together since 2008, The GOASTT have really been getting things started in April of last year with the release of their debut album, Midnight Sun. They toured extensively after the release, and are keeping the momentum going this year.

Critically acclaimed and gathering steam in sales, The GOASTT have been hitting the road again and getting more positive reactions, judging by the audience in Barcelona. After Primavera, they are slated to come back to the States and hit the road here for much of the Summer. No word on a West Coast pass-through, but they are definitely an engrossing and repeat-worthy act to catch. Count me in among the fans.

Play very loud – it’s worth it.
