More Festivals – but tonight it’s 1969 and it’s the Texas International Pop Festival in Dallas and the band tearing it up was none other than the legendary Janis Joplin and her Kozmic Blues Band.

A half-hour of non-stop high-voltage Janis, part of an all-star lineup from this legendary festival – hot on the heels of Woodstock only a month earlier. The Kozmic Blues Band was short-lived but it definitely tore things up while they were together. Sam Andrew is on guitar, the only holdover from the Big Brother era.

But it’s vintage Janis Joplin and any live performance of hers is a performance worth listening to and remembering.

So, it is strongly suggested you crank this one up and get into the groove. It’s been a crazy week and it’s time to celebrate.

And while you’re celebrating, please make your Tax Deductible Contributions to help keep Past Daily up and running during our Spring Fundraiser. We need your support – we need it badly.
