At the risk of sounding smug, I predicted in 2012 that Kodaline were going to be a hot item in the years to come. I said that when they were a little less than a year old and were playing the London Calling 2012 Festival in Holland. They had already gotten a lot of positive press and audience reaction to their initial gigs – at the time they were new faces, new bands on the horizon and were good at what they were saying and were, above all, impressive.
Three years later, they are seasoned veterans, with a string of hits under their collective belts and no sign of stopping, Kodaline have made all those predictions come true. In February of this year they released their second album, Coming Up For Air and has entered the UK album charts at #4. Pretty damned impressive, you must admit. Well . . .I’m rather pleased – and am stifling the urge to say “I told you so”. But rather than gloat, I thought I would run this latest concert offering from Kodaline, from T In The Park earlier this month.
If you haven’t yet, check them out – good, solid band with excellent songwriting skills and a tight ensemble. Doesn’t get better than that.
Play loud – here comes the week.
