Sviatoslav Richter In Recital – Moscow – December 22, 1974 – Radio Moscow – Gordon Skene Sound Collection

Another classic concert this week. The legendary Sviatoslav Richter, in recital from Moscow and recorded by Radio Moscow on December 22, 1974.

Considered one of the greatest Pianists of the 20th century, with a vast repertoire and incredible depth to his interpretations, his concerts were milestone moments and his fans were legion.

This concert has mostly likely been issued commercially – but much of his material hasn’t, and only recently has much of his live concert material been unearthed and reissued. His commercial recordings are highly prized by collectors and have been reissued continuously over the years.

Since this is a raw tape, there are no announcements – so here’s what’s on the player.
