Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – live at Glastonbury 2004 – BBC 6 Music –

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, or BRMC for short, ripping it up at Glasto in 2004. BRMC are a wonderful mashup of Psychedelia, Noise Rock, Noise Pop and Shoegaze, who have been around since 1998 and have no intention of quitting now.

Promoting their second album, Take Them On, On Your Own, the tour came during a stressful period for the band. With tensions bubbling to the surface and the erratic behavior of drummer Nick Jago eventually forcing his departure during the tour.

But despite the problems early-on, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club have kept things going and have flourished in the meantime. With a new drummer (Leah Shapiro), the band have made great strides.

With 7 albums to their credit and much positive response from the press and audience, BMRC have continued to evolve. This concert from Glastonbury was recorded by the venerable BBC 6 Music and preserves all that energy.

So, if you’ve missed them during their formative years, or want to be reminded what a high-energy and highly committed band BMRC have always been, have a listen to this clip from Glasto and it will answer all your questions.

Play loud. The week is over – we’ve survived. Yay for us.
