March 31, 2016 – No Pressure . . . Much
Give or take the few days off, struggling with the dreaded flu, we’re back on track and slowly getting up to speed. It’s been slow, but there’s been a lot going on to distract you from what’s going on here. The world is a busy and insane place at the moment – has it always been this way? Well, if you’re a fan of history, you’ll know that yes, it has. Maybe not quite as insane as it is now, and maybe more insane than it is now. But truths to tell – almost everything that is going on now has some situation which went on before, almost identical to the current one. Sound depressing? No, not really. When you realize that everything has a beginning, middle and an end – and that it’s happened before, at least gives some perspective that the world is just the way it is – a place where there are a lot of people, doing a lot of things, and not all of them are good.
The problem is our ability to forget mistakes of the past; forget they ever happened. History is a record, a testament of proof by witnesses that we’ve gone through a lot of this before. But like the cliché goes – not learning or benefitting from those mistakes means we’re often doomed to repeat them (or words to that effect). In a way, that’s why Past Daily is here – to remind you that things are always in a state of turmoil and change – and we have the ability to look at those changes and benefit from them – and hopefully not make the same mistakes again. To be reminded there are no “good old days” – but that all days are points of reference; to learn and grow from, and to maybe be better as a result.
So what does this have to do with your contribution to Past Daily, during this Spring Fundraiser? A lot.
Preserving history and making it available to you every day is a huge task. Most days are spent preserving, digitizing, preparing, writing and posting all these pieces of history – all the news, events, culture, Arts, interviews and Music you hear and read about on Past Daily. It takes a huge effort – and I really can’t do it alone. Luckily, Past Daily is affiliated with Fractured Atlas and so we’re a Non-Profit, which is great – because that means every dollar you chip in, is a tax deduction for you. All I ask, is that you consider chipping in what you can to let keep this up and continue giving you the best we can.
Please click on the link in the box below and make your Tax Deductible contributions, in how much ever you feel comfortable giving – every penny means a lot and every penny is used to help keep Past Daily up, running and offering you the best and the rarest.
Till next time,
