Monday
It’s THAT kind of Monday.

5 Days left – We’re a little under half our goal with less than a week to get there. To say we’re going a little crazy is an understatement – we’re pulling our hair out, trying to figure out how we can convince those of you who haven’t chipped in, that we desperately need your support – our existence depends on the contributions from our visitors, that our operating the website and our continuing preservation and restoration depends on your tax deductible contributions to help keep us going. Plain and simple; we need your help – we’re asking you to chip in and give what you can. We’re not asking you to make sacrifices – not asking you to give up something – we’re just asking you to chip in what you’re willing to contribute. I know there are a lot of you out there who visit and don’t feel any obligation to help keep us up and running – you think someone else will do it, we’re making this up anyway. Believe me, we’re not making this up – your contributions go directly into giving you the quality and the rarities you just don’t find anywhere else. I know – I’ve been exploring – and I don’t see another Past Daily anywhere else in the world. We’re unique – and because we’re unique, it’s hard to convince those casual visitors that we’re pretty much alone here, and that we need your support to keep going.

Over the next 5 days I will be making a pain out of myself – my apologies up front to those who don’t like being hounded or who have already made your contributions. In light of everything else going on in the world today, the last thing you want is someone bothering you at a site you normally visit every day. I’m sorry – and as soon as it’s over, I’ll be back and you won’t hear about Fundraisers until the end of the year. But for now, I’m appealing to the ones who haven’t chipped in yet – the ones who are on the fence – you’re the ones I need and you’re the ones I am appealing to.

We don’t have much time left at all – just this week. So if you’ve been waiting, now is the time to make that decision and to support us. It doesn’t take much – but it means everything.

All you have to do is click on the link in the box below and lend a hand and chip in a few bucks – that’s it. Takes maybe a minute. Painless, lifesaving – great way to start a week. I promise.

Till next time,

Gordon

  1. Gordon.

I’m British, now live in Jakarta, and am a pension-less 70 year old, but would most certainly chip in if I could.

Having only recently discovered your site, I can only sit back and applaud the service you offer. Without a history, we have no future, and your recordings bring to life episodes which remind us of how we’ve arrived at where we are now.

So it is with heartfelt apologies for not being able to chip in a few dollars that I urge other subscribers, especially younger folk, to support you in your work.

To them I say, it may not be your history, but it could be that of your parents and grandparents, and what you hear is part of your tribal memory and the tapestry of your life.

    Regards.

    • Thank you so much for your kind note, and no apologies needed – the site is for everyone – and if you can’t chip in, it’s not a problem. As I always say, if you can’t chip in, just tell your friends. Just you visiting regularly makes a huge difference – I’m barely scratching the surface and hope to be around for many more years to come – there’s a lot of history left to explore. And your note has made a big difference. Thank you so much again and thanks for your emotional support – it means a lot.
      Best wishes,
      Gordon
