While we’re fine-tuning, rethinking and spitballing Past Daily’s Thousand Yard Stare Podcast – here is a recap of what you might have missed since the middle of August. We’re doing the podcast as a way of giving you the highlights of what I’ve been posting the previous week. We’re still trying to get into a groove on this; sometimes life jumps in and causes the big distraction. I’ve had a few comments from some of you since our last Podcast episode was up and some of you have asked if I can put up different things for the podcast that I do for the regular daily posts – we can do that. You also asked if I could get into why I started doing this in the first place (a fair question which there is a convoluted answer for) – still more of you want me to have guests to come on and we can chat about history. Let me think about that one – it’s more of a logistics question than actually doing interviews. My workspace, where all these posts come from is tiny and I don’t think I can fit another person in this already cramped, overflowing, somewhat claustrophobic space – but I will try.
At any rate – I am hoping to make this a weekly podcast, which in turn I hope will bring a new and larger audience to Past Daily. We still keep doing what we’ve been doing since 2012 – six years on and there’s no end in sight. I just got back from one of my regular trips to the vault and I can with no hesitation that, of all the posts that have been on this site since 2012 (some 6,000) it’s a tiny fraction of what’s still left to get up. So I’m not running out of material any lifetime soon.
In the meantime, check out this latest sampling and excuse my rather deadpan voice – I promise to do better all the way around.
