Autmumn Comets In Session at RNE-Radio 3, Madrid – April 18, 2013 – Radio Nacional España
Checking in on our friends in Spain and getting a few notes from Autumn Comets, who were in session at Radio Nacional España back in April of 2013 and who are making a welcome appearance here tonight.

Formed in 2008, Autumn Comets are Julián P. Campesino (Guitar and vocals), Pablo P. Campesino (Drums), Emilio Lorente (Guitar), and Gonzalo Bautista (Keyboards and programming), which are joined by Manuel Moreno (Viola / Arrangements) in 2009 and Mario Perez (Bass) in 2012. In 2009 they self-published “Parades”, album born of their passion for slow-core and antifolk, and thanks to their creative restlessness, only one year later, at the end of 2010 , they published “A Perfect Trampoline Jump”, a work that had the collaborations of two heavyweights such as Russian Red and Micah P. Hinson and that made them known in the independent scene, giving them the possibility of doing what they like most, playing live. There were more than 50 concerts throughout the country, some of them in emblematic stages such as the Palau de la Musica, Dcode Festival, Music Day, Primavera Club (Madrid and Barcelona), Primavera Sound, Monkey Week, etc., in which Autumn Comets are discovered as a “live group” before the public and critics. In this new stage, without losing its proverbial intensity addiction and admirable pulse for developments, Autumn Comets have managed to distill its intricate and complex sound, full of hybridizations, in an absolutely personal way to transcend and inoculate it in a handful of new huge songs through which light enters in abundance. In this way, the echoes and reverberations of bands such as The Appleseed Cast, Slowdive, Bedhead or Red House Painters, are joined by Broken Social Scene, Wilco (in its most bastard version) and Local Natives, but also those of Fuck Buttons , Jesu or Mogwai.
I understand they’ve also released a new album earlier this year and have set out on a substantial tour, one which has taken them out of the confines of their home turf and sent them on a journey of discovery and taking the message to new audiences and making new fans in the process.
