Pink Floyd At Wembley – Part 2 –

Of all the groups I’ve posted concerts for over the past few years I don’t recall posting very much Pink Floyd, certainly nothing from the Dark Side Of The Moon period. No real reason, aside from the vast number of live concert recordings currently out there – and most fans have all of them. But then I remembered; it’s the ones who aren’t familiar that I’m playing these for.

With that in mind, here is Pink Floyd live at Wembley, recorded on November 16, 1974.

From what I understand, this recording has been around quite a bit, and for good reason; it sounds wonderful.

It’s a long one, so it’s broken up between two players:

Pink Floyd’s British Winter Tour ’74, was a short concert tour by the band during the winter of 1974 in the United Kingdom. The 16 November show was recorded by BBC Radio One and later broadcast on the Alan Freeman Show on 11 January 1975, minus the encore. This recording is included in the 2011 Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here box sets, except for “Echoes” which was released on 11 November 2016, as part of the 27-disc box set, The Early Years 1965–1972 which make up Live at the Empire Pool. The 1974 winter tour marks the last time Pink Floyd would perform in Wales.

The 1974 British tour featured the debut of “You’ve Gotta Be Crazy”.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

  1. Gordon, I’ve never been a huge Floyd fan, but this recording is downright stunning. I’ve just finished listening to both parts, and I’m hard-pressed to think of a better recording of a live event. Wonderful to have. Thank you!
