Berta Kennedy – First session at BBC Scotland – social distancing and everything.

Berta Kennedy – in session at BBC Introducing – BBC Scotland – July 23, 2021 – BBC Scotland –

Berta Kennedy in session tonight. Her very first for BBC Scotland and part of the BBC Scotland Introducing program from July 23, 2021.

Further evidence mere pandemics aren’t thwarting the creative spirit, Berta Kennedy is relatively new on the scene.

Berta Kennedy is a Producer/Singer-Songwriter from Greenock, Scotland. Her journey started out fronting an alt-rock Glasgow band and led her to achieve a Pop Degree in Edinburgh where she now crafts her own sound and produces/writes for others. Taking influence from 90/00’s hip-hop/R’n’B, 2010’s Alt Rock and contemporary pop artists such as Ravyn Lenae, Justin Timberlake and Alt-J, Berta experiments with pop production and blends British boldness with American alt-pop aesthetic.

Her most music is consistently featured on BBC Radio Scotland. Following this recognition, Berta was selected to perform at the Resonate Music Conference 2020 at Saint Luke’s, Glasgow. Berta Kennedy has also been acknowledged on Vic Galloway’s (BBC Radio Scotland) 25 Scottish Artists to Watch in 2021 and was invited to perform live on BBC Radio Scotland.

Kennedy writes, performs and records from home, before mixing and mastering the tracks herself. Last week, she performed a Live Session on Scotland’s BBC Introducing show with Shereen Cutkelvin and Phoebe I-H, she’s been championed by BBC Scotland’s Vic Galloway as one of his 25 Artists to Watch in 2021 and her latest single, Cycles (and B-side A Tomorrow Thing), have enjoyed airplay across the BBC. Some recent producer credits include songs by White Novels and Rachel Hart.

If you are new to Berta Kennedy, or heard bits and pieces – here’s a chance to dive into her first BBC Scotland session as it was broadcast on July 23rd.
