Melifluo - in session from Madrid - 2021
Melifluo – Proof that every band around the world was practicing social distancing – even them – don’t believe what you see.

Melifluo – in session at RNE Radio 3 – Madrid, Spain – June 15, 2021 – Radio Nacional España –

Checking out the goings-on in Madrid tonight and running across a session by up-and-comers Melifluo, recorded live (and socially distanced) by RNE Radio 3n June 15, 2021.

Melifluo is a duo formed in 2019 by the brothers Juan Carlos and Antonio Gómez Parrilla. Their music is an introspective journey through rhythms close to trip-hop, electronic pop and rock. After working in previous bands such as Supersubmarina and Casasola, the brothers began this project with the release of four singles and a first EP, produced by Víctor Cabezuelo (Rufus T. Firefly) and mixed by Manuel Cabezalí (Havalina). Their live shows are full of strength and electric rhythms. After the great reception of their first songs, and their presentation in an extensive tour of the national scene, Juanca and Gómez have been locked in a very extensive creative process to create their first full-length album, “’Pasado_Futuro’. On this occasion they have been the ones who have produced, recorded and mixed it in their own studio.

As luck would have it, they were just getting started and planning on a series of live dates throughout home turf and rumors of a visit to Los Angeles when COVID jumped in and made everybody’s life miserable and put more than a few dents in the momentum.

It’s all pretty much up in the air, with a return to live dates and embarking on a debut tour to promote their new album looming on the sidelines.

Helluva time to get started in trying to make a career to all of a sudden having a string of venues shut down on you and tours up and cancel. Luckily, things are looking up (sort of) and you can have a listen to this in the meantime, while you’re waiting for the new set of guidelines before venturing out for a night of getting in nothing but trouble.

Enjoy in the meantime and pay no attention to the language barrier – it’s about the notes, anyway.
