Childcare – In Session – 2021 – Past Daily Soundbooth – Music In The Time Of COVID

Childcare - In Session - Radio X - 2021
Childcare – when the founder of your band is a former male nanny, coming up with a name was a no-brainer.

Childcare In Session – Recorded for John Kennedy and X-Posure for Radio X, London – October 18, 2021 – Radio X –

Childcare in session to start the week. Recorded for John Kennedy’s X-Posure program at Radio X and broadcast on October 18, 2021.

Childcare have been together since 2016. Formed by Ed Cares who, prior to diving into music full-time was a full-time male Nanny, realized naming the band after his former profession was a foregone conclusion. And so . . .

Since that time, the band issued two ep’s and gotten a lot of support by way of BBC Radio 1 along with landing prestigious spots in various festivals between 2018 and 2019 when their debut album, Wabi-Sabi was issued.

Building up momentum and working on establishing a following before COVID hits and the world heads into lockdown. And like everyone else, Childcare were in a state of suspended animation for the better part of a year, save for socially distant sessions like this one that have at least kept the spirit of Childcare alive while waiting for some sign that things would return to normal.

During that time they’ve worked on a follow-up album, Busy Busy People which is slated to be released shortly and is now available via pre-order from their website.

With a slow return to clubs and concerts as restrictions get relaxed, Childcare have rescheduled their aborted UK tour and are now ready to head out in January 2022.
