Sons – Explosive vocals and buzzsaw riffs. Works for me!

Sons – In Session for John Kennedy – X-Posure Program – Radio X, London – January 17, 2017 –

Since I have a feeling, somewhere deep in my gut that next week is going to be insane, what better soundtrack to the madness that is life in times of COVID than a brain-searing session from Sons?

Right?

Recorded on January 17, 2017 for John Kennedy’s X-Posure program on Radio X in London, we’re looking at 11 minutes and 09 seconds of borderline mayhem – and it couldn’t come at a better time.

A little rundown on Sons via their Bandcamp page from 2017:

Brothers Lee and Nick Meldrum burst onto the scene in 2016. It’s been a high octane time for the Brighton two-piece SONS

All their singles have been heavily rotated by Radio 1, Radio X, 6 Music, Kerrang! and Virgin as well as impressing the likes of Kerrang Magazine, Clash, and Team Rock.

Highlights sets at Reading Festival, IOW 18, The Great Escape and most recently Obstwiesen Fest, Germany.

Darlings of incendiary rock n’ roll club night This Feeling, all four singles have been heavily rotated by indie/rock radio luminaries Steve Lamacq, Huw Stephens, John Kennedy and Alex Baker – as well as impressing the likes of Kerrang Magazine, Clash Music, Team Rock and GigSlutz. They also have two live radio sessions under their belt, for Radio X and BBC Introducing.

Meanwhile, the band have taken their cacophonous live set on the road, gigging up and down the country with highlight sets at Reading Festival, Isle Of Wight Festival, The Great Escape, a European tour in 2018 and most recently Obstwiesen festival, Germany 2019.

Don’t take my or Bandcamp’s word for it – crank this one up and get ready. You’ll thank me by the end of the week.
