Arnaud Dolmen has been making waves all throughout Europe for a while now – this gig comes after the release of his debut album, Tonbé Lévé released in 2017, focused on a contemporary Jazz aesthetic was a resounding success. His accolades include “Revelation of the Year” by Jazz Magazine, “Artist to Watch” by Jazzwise Magazine, “One of the 5 best drummers of 2021” by Jazz Magazine & Jazz News.
Originally from Guadeloupe, Arnaud Dolmen studied drum ka from the age of five, then drums at Atelier Marcel Lollia, under the direction of Georges Troupé. As a teenager, his talent was revealed in the Kimbòl Youth Orchestra. As a young musician, he collaborated with different artists, in various musical styles. And in 2003, Dolmen flew to Toulouse to continue his music studies at the Dante Agostini drum school.
He has since settled in Paris and has so far collaborated on some 80 albums in addition to his work in his own group. He has also co-led several bands who have been well received by critics and audiences.
Arnaud brings his gwoka and jazz background in his unique playing while traveling the globe. After a long period of observation and introspection, Arnaud Dolmen returned with a second album, Adjusting, which questions our interconnection, our human experience in a world as beautiful as noisy. It came out on January 28, 2022.
