Amid a storm of controversy, with sides divided on whether or not it is ultimately a good thing, January marks the 20th anniversary of the enactment of the North American Free Trade Act (NAFTA).
After a long and at times contentious debate, The House passed the milestone bill on November 17, 1993.
Just prior to his leaving for the first APEC Economic Summit in Seattle, President Clinton offered remarks on the historic vote and passage of NAFTA.
