Something lyrical and haunting from Jerusalem via Paris tonight. Flora (stage name for Liron Meshulam) is an Israeli singer/writer/producer/keyboard artist who has been touring with fellow countryman Asaf Avidan in a series of sold-out concerts all over Europe this past year.
But Flora is a remarkable talent in her own right. Playing solo for a while now, and touring on her own throughout Europe and making it as far as New York (the CMJ Festival in 2012), she paints a luxuriant soundscape, and together with an ethereal, haunting voice she clearly captivated the crowd at the famed Folies Bergère in Paris this past September. She has a new ep out, Everything Is Here is her latest endeavor which came out in August and she’s been touring to promote it. You can pick up a copy on her website and on her Facebook page. Check it out.
Hopefully she’ll come a bit further west than New York next time. For now, have a listen to a remarkable artist in solo concert recorded in September.
