One of THE truly iconic names in the pantheon of 80s Music this weekend – the inimitable Siouxsie And The Banshees, recording in concert in Tiel, Holland on July 7, 1981 – by the venerable and always forward-thinking VPRO network in the Netherlands.

Siouxsie and the Banshees may not have been as huge in the U.S. as they were in the UK and all over Europe, but they made an enormous impression on audiences and on other musicians coming up during the late 70s/early 80s. Cited by everyone from Morrissey to Radiohead and Sonic Youth, Siouxsie and The Banshees were regarded as one of the groundbreaking bands of the period. And with 11 albums spanning a very productive career, they continue to be regarded as one of the most unique and original bands of the period.

Here is a sample of what they were up to in 1981.

Crank it up very loud and enjoy very loudly.
