Over to Sweden this week for a concert by the Gothemburg Symphony conducted by Gustavo Dudamel and featuring Leif Ove Andsnes, piano in music of Benzecry, Rachmaninov, Chopin and Sibelius.
Beginning with Rituales Ameriindios by Esteban Benzecry – followed by Rachmoniov’s Piano concert Number 4 with Leif Ove Adsnes, piano and Chopin’s Valse in A-Flat Major as an encore. The concert concludes wiht a performance os Sibelius’ Symphhny Number 2 in D Major. It was recorded on January 13, 2011 by Sveriges Radio and relayed to Radio Nacional España.
Leif Ove Andsnes records exclusively for Sony Classical. His previous discography comprises more than 30 discs for EMI Classics – solo, chamber, and concerto releases, many of them bestsellers – spanning repertoire from the time of Bach to the present day. He has been nominated for eleven Grammys and awarded many international prizes, including six Gramophone Awards.
