I keep meaning to do a post on The Horrors, certainly one of the more interesting (in a good way) bands to come along in recent years. I ran across this session from April of this year, done at the legendary Maida Vale studios at the BBC. In lieu being able to locate their KCRW Morning Becomes Eclectic session of a few years ago and of something longer (which I will do in the next few weeks), here’s what they’ve been up to lately.
Coming up on 9 years since they first got started, and 7 years since they released their first album, The Horrors have been getting a lot of positive props for their work and a worldwide audience to match. Their new album, Luminous was released earlier this week and they are embarking on a full schedule of festivals around Europe this Summer, pretty much booked up until the end of August.
In the meantime, here they are from April 23rd in session for BBC Radio 1. They are joined by special guests Tasita D’Amour and Sharlene Hector.
