Parliamo – live at Edinburgh 2021 – August 27, 2021 – BBC Scotland – Introducing –

Parliamo live at the Edinburgh Festival this past week. Recorded August 27 by BBC Radio Scotland and featured as part of the BBC Introducing program, a hot bed and stepping-off point for much talent floating around Scotland.\

Parliamo are an underground Pop group from Perth, Scotland, creating dance-infused rock n roll. The material is co-written by founders of the band, vocalist Jack Dailly and guitarist Finn Freeburn-Morrison. Recently the duo have been joined by drummer Ben France, guitarist Calum Simpson and bassist Fraser Nicholson.

Gigs and Tours.com has this to say:

With a heady live-reputation preceding them, Parliamo have already been hailed as one of Scotland’s most exciting young prospects. Drawing from a plethora of influences from Groove Armada, The Avalanches and Massive Attack to Super Furry Animals, The Beta Band and Primal Scream – their witty social commentary-styled lyricism partnered with a unique song writing approach suggest a band working beyond their years.

For a band that haven’t been around that long, they’re getting a lot of attention and a lot of good press, and clearly the current atmosphere with COVID and putting live performances and tours in doubt haven’t done anything to dampen enthusiasm for this band. Like everyone who is missing the spirit of the live gig, there’s a lot of anticipation Parliamo will be giving the much needed shot-in-the-arm for music this year. The audience at this Edinburgh Festival gig are over-the-top and the band seem to be responding in kind by just being glad to get out on stage someplace.

Hopefully this bodes well for the future. If you’re still stuck inside, hit the play button on this one and keep your fingers crossed.
