Norah Jones – We Love Green Festival 2012 – Past Daily Morning Soundbooth

– Norah Jones at The We Love Green Festival -Sept. 13, 2012 –

One of the many things I love about the music of Norah Jones is that it fails repeatedly to be pigeon-holed into any specific genre. Mainstream Media have twisted themselves in knots, declaring Jones a Jazz Artist, a Country Artist, an Adult Contemporary Artist. Roots, Rock, Lo-fi – the gamut. Strange, Adult Contemporary sounds like what you hear above your head between shots of Novocaine at the Dentists office.

I would probably vote for something like Contemporary Ethereal, but even then it would pigeon-hole. And the fact that Norah Jones embraces all of it makes it refreshing and signifies to me that what she’s all about is music that is good, regardless of what you label it.

And that’s the whole deal in a nutshell.

So with all that in mind, here is a wonderful concert she did with her band The Willies at the 2012 We Love Green Festival in Paris and recorded by the ever-amazing and non-pigeon holed FIP from Radio France.

Get ready for Monday and turn this one up.

The world is in a constant state of change and it’s good to be reminded that, very often, we’ve been on this road before and have experienced the same results. That’s why Past Daily is here – we’re not here to hustle you for money for things you don’t want or need – we’re not here to trash anybody or anything or get you outraged – we’re here to turn you on to things that might, just possibly, add something to your life.
