Over to Helsinki, Finland this week for a concert by The Finnish Radio Symphony, guest conducted by Francois-Xavier Roth and featuring Russian violinist Patricia Kopatchinkskaja in a program of music by Bruno Mantovani, Peter Eötvös and Richard Strauss.
The first half is pretty adventuresome while the second half is pretty standard fare. Kopatchinskaja rises to the occasion admirably for the Eötvös and gets an ovation for her travels.
A little late this week to be considered Anti-Road Rage, but there’s still Thursday morning rush hour – although calming and soothing might be a bit of a stretch for the concert this week – nevertheless, enjoy.
